The Alfa Romeo 146 sedan began to be produced in Italy in 1995, a year later than the 145 platform hatchback. Gasoline boxer engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 (90–129 hp) were installed on the car, the turbodiesel engine had a volume of 1.9 liters and a power of 90 –105 hp.
In 1996, a modification with a gasoline two-liter engine with a capacity of 155 hp appeared in the lineup. with., and the “opposition” were replaced by in-line engines of the TwinSpark 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 series, developing 103, 120 and 144 hp. respectively.
