Toyota RAV4 History

Some TOYOTA RAV4 Wiring Diagrams are above the page.

In 1994, serial production of the Toyota RAV4 began, which became one of the first representatives of the nascent class of compact crossovers - cars that combine the best qualities of cars and SUVs.

The car was created on the platform of Toyota Corolla and at first it was offered only with a three-door body. In 1995, an elongated five-door version made its debut, and after restyling in 1998 - also a short-base version with a removable soft top over the rear.

Toyota RAV4 installed gasoline two-liter engines. The version for the European and American market had a capacity of 120-129 hp, and the power unit on machines for Japan developed from 135 to 180 hp. Transmission - mechanical or automatic.

In America, Toyota RAV4 was offered not only with full, but also with front-wheel drive. In 1997, small-scale production of the electric version of the car was launched.
