Sedan business class Opel Omega, the release of which began in Germany in 1986, replaced the model Rekord. Buyers were offered a version with a sedan and wagon.

 

In the design of the rear-wheel drive "Omega" were applied the latest technology at that time: electronic engine control, ABS, on-board computer, electronic diagnostic system.

 

The car was equipped with gasoline in-line four and six-cylinder engines ranging from 1.8 to 3 liters (83–230 hp.) And 2.3-liter turbo diesel engines (73–101 hp.) The powerful versions with the Irmscher nameplate had engines 3.6 and 4.0, developing from 199 to 272 hp.

 

In 1991, the Opel Omega Lotus appeared with a 377-horsepower turbo engine of 3.6 liters. In the UK, this model was called Vauxhall Carlton, and in Brazil - Chevrolet Omega (sedan) and Suprema (wagon).
